- Why the recorded video is blank?
This may happen when the player being recorded is using hardware acceleration. The solution is to disable hardware acceleration.

- Why can't I record audio?
Firstly, make sure that you had checked the item "Record Audio" in Options Dialog.
Then in the summary window, click the audio source link to select where you want to record audio from. Please see the picture as below.

- How long can I record a video at one time?
It depends on your hard disk space. Total Screen Recorder DO NOT have limit of the video time record.
- When I try turn off Hardware Acceleration, it shows” Your current display driver does not allow changes to be made to hardware acceleration settings”, how do I fix it?
It probably because you are not using the right driver for your graphics card. So the first thing you have to do is finding what driver will be suit for you graphics card. Google the latest version of the driver for your graphics card and operate system (some driver are design for XP, some are design for vista), then download and install it. After finish update of your graphics card drivers, you could change the setting right now.
- Why is the audio out of sync with video?
This may happen for some video co dec, you may try to change to another video compressor in Options Dialog. And please close other applications that take resources during recording.
- Why is the Total Screen Recorder faster or slower than the original screen?
This may happen your set the play back rates incorrect. You may change the play back rates in Options Dialog. Change the play back frame per second and do some test, you will find an appropriate FPS setting for recording.
- Where is my recorded video file saved?
Select "Record > Open Output Folder" to open the directory where recorded video file is saved. The file name is displayed in Summary Window.
- How to record by free size region, windows, full screen, fixed size or fixed region?
Check the appropriate one in Options Dialog.
- How to show the Total Screen Recorder again when it is hidden?
Right click the video recorder icon in the system tray, and select "Show Recorder" from the popup menu.
- How to uninstall the Total Screen Recorder from my computer?
For Windows 2000, please click "Start > Settings > Control Panel". For Windows XP, please click "Start > Control Panel". Click the item "Add/Remove Programs", then select "Total Screen Recorder" from the list and click the "Remove" button to uninstall it.
- Is technical support free?
Yes, it is.
- How to set my own hotkey?
To set your own hotkey, choose "View > Options..." from menu bar, then set focus to the hotkey edit box (this means to click on the edit box and show the cursor in it), and press down the keys you want to set as hotkey.
Click "OK" button to enable the setting. If you still see an error message on registering hotkey, you can set it again until the error doesn't appear.
- How to update my version?
Total Screen Recorder will check product web site for updates every 7 days. When new version found, a message box will pop up to tell you the information about the updates, and can guide you go to the download page on product web site.
To check for updates manually, select "Help > Check for Updates" from menu bar.
- Can Total Screen Recorder work automatically?
To let Total Screen Recorder start or stop recording automatically, you should choose "Recorder > Set Timers", or click the "Set Timers" button from toolbar. In "Set Timers" dialog, check and set start or stop time you want, Total Screen Recorder will start record when the auto-start timer triggered, and stop the recording at the stop time you set.
To disable timers, just select "Recorder > Set Timers", or click the "Set Timers" button from toolbar, and uncheck start or stop timers.

Can Total Screen Recorder automatically record screen on every start of windows and save automatically till computer shut down?
Yes, In Options dialog, check "Capture Screen Activities in Sneak Mode on Windows Start Up" to log computer usage. The recorder will be launched automatically on windows start up, and capture screen in sneak mode. In sneak mode, main window and tray icon will be invisible. You can only press the defined hotkey to turn on or turn off sneak mode.

Can I use Total Screen Recorder registration code supplied with Gold version?
A registration code can not be commoned to the three versions; different versions require different registration codes. For example, the Standard version's registration code is not compatible with the Standard version.
