- Why the recorded video is blank?
This may happen when the player being recorded is using hardware acceleration. The solution is to disable hardware acceleration.
In Windows 2000/XP/2003, go to "START > CONTROL PANEL > DISPLAY > SETTINGS > ADVANCED > TROUBLESHOOTING TAB", and set "Hardware Acceleration" to "None".
In Windows Vista, go to "START > CONTROL PANEL > DISPLAY SETTINGS > ADVANCED SETTINGS > TROUBLESHOO TAB > CHANGE SETTINGS", and set "Hardware Acceleration" to "None".
- Why can't I record audio?
Firstly, make sure that you had checked the item "Record Audio" in Options Dialog.
Then in the summary window, click the audio source link to select where you want to record audio from.
If you want to record sound from media files or online movie, you should select "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" or "Wave Out". The audio source name may vary on different computers.
- Why is the audio out of sync with video?
This may happen for some video codec, you may try to change to another video compressor in Options Dialog. And please close other applications that takes resources during recording.
- Why is the Total Screen Recorderfaster or slower than the original screen?
This may happen when you the play back rates is incorrect. You may change the play back rates in Options Dialog. Change the play back frame per second and do some test, you will find an appropriate FPS setting for recording.
- Where is my recorded video file saved?
Select "Record > Open Output Folder" to open the directory where recorded video file is saved. The file name is displayed in Summary Window.
- How to record by free size region, windows, full screen, fixed size or fixed region?
Check the appropriate one in Options Dialog.
- How to show the Total Screen Recorderagain when it is hidden?
Right click the video recorder icon in the system tray, and select "Show Recorder" from the popup menu.
- How to uninstall the Total Screen Recorderfrom my computer?
For Windows 2000, please click "Start > Settings > Control Panel". For Windows XP, please click "Start > Control Panel". Click the item "Add/Remove Programs", then select "Total Screen Recorder" from the list and click the "Remove" button to uninstall it.
